The program includes individual and group lessons, as well as lectures, presentations, and concerts. Participants will have the chance to expand their musical knowledge and experience the beauty of the horn repertoire performed by masters. Joanna Kowalewska, an experienced pianist who regularly collaborates with horn players at the Academy of Music in Łódź, will accompany participants throughout the course.
The course will cover a wide range of topics, including breathing techniques, embouchure work, lip trills, double and triple tonguing, legato playing, repertoire selection, and audition preparation for orchestras.

11:00 – 13:30 individual lessons
13:30 – 14:30 lunch

Regulations International Horn Masterclass 2025
The organizer of the International Horn Masterclass 2025 (hereinafter: IHM 2025) is the MikulskiART Foundation (hereinafter: the Foundation), in cooperation with the Zbigniew Herbert Municipal Cultural Center in Pabianice. The organizational and artistic director of the masterclass is Prof. Dr. habil. Dariusz Mikulski.
The masterclass focuses on the French horn.
Participants under the age of 18 may attend only with the written consent of a legal guardian, which must be attached to the registration form.
The masterclass will be held from July 6 to 12, 2025, at the Zbigniew Herbert Municipal Cultural Center, located at ul. Tadeusza Kościuszki 14, Pabianice.
Each active participant is guaranteed five individual lessons (45 minutes each), which will include repertoire work as well as technical and workshop instruction.
All lessons are conducted in an open class format.
A daily joint warm-up session for horn players will be held.
Additional activities include work on orchestral excerpts, chamber music, sessions with an accompanist, and mini-recitals and musical presentations.
Masterclass Schedule
July 6, 2025, 4:00 PM (concert hall): Organizational meeting, joint warm-up, and short participant recitals.
July 7–12, 2025, 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Daily joint horn warm-up.
July 7–11, 2025, 11:00 AM – 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Individual and group lessons with instructors.
July 12, 2025, 6:00 PM: Final concert by participants and conclusion of the masterclass.
Important Information for Participants
Participants must provide sheet music for the accompanying pianist at their own expense.
Participants consent to free recording (photo, audio, and video) of classes and concerts for promotional and archival purposes of the Foundation. They also consent to the use of their image on the Foundation’s social media channels. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Participation is conditional on submitting a completed registration form by July 5, 2025. The form is available at: www.mikulskiart.com. A confirmation of payment must be attached to the registration form.

Additional Provisions
a) The participation fee must match the amounts specified above.
b) The fee covers only participation in the masterclass sessions.
c) All bank transfer costs are the responsibility of the participant.
d) The Foundation does not cover travel, accommodation, or meals.
e) The Foundation does not assist with travel, accommodation, or meal arrangements.
f) In the event of cancellation due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s control, the fee will be fully refunded.
g) If a participant withdraws from the masterclass, the fee is non-refundable.
h) The number of places for active participants is limited. Participation is granted in the order of correctly submitted applications.
